Down behind enemy lines? Left to fend for yourself? These are the scenarios that inspired the LMF II. Former military man, Jeff Freeman led the charge to engineer this fearless new 10" survival knife. And we field-tested with the troops.

This knife is as adaptable as the personnel who carry it. Use it to cut through the skin of a fuselage. Or sever a seat belt. Or egress through the Plexiglas of a chopper. Plus, the LMF II does a slick job cutting firewood and building shelter.
LMF II Survival Knife

The over-molded handle successfully limits blistering. There is complete separation between the tang and butt cap, so the knife absorbs the shocks from hammering and prevents the shocks of electricity. Smartly situated grooves and lashing holes let the LMF II convert to a spear. The low-profile sheath facilitates movement, limits noise, works for parachuting, and attaches to a belt or Molle vest. The patented, integrated sharpener means edge retention in the field.

Don't use as a hatchet

Awesome knife, however, while using it as a hatchet and banging the back of the blade with a rock (as depicted in the instructions that came with the knife) the blade snapped in half. Normally I would not have done this with a knife but the instructions said it could be used like this so I assumed that it would hold up. My bad. Great knife otherwise. I'm getting a new one and I guess I won't bang on it this time.

I really love this knife. I have owned the Gerber Ultimate Survival knife for over a year and it has been a great tool, but it just got replaced by the LMF II. This knife is much heavier and has a wider and longer blade. It will take out things and do things you wouldn't imagine a knife doing. With a little blade assist, you can take down 6" trees. I would not recommend using a rock as a blade assist though, as that will never turn out well. I advise a hardwood stick or branch, not softwood like Maple. Works like a dream.

This is the best knife I have ever seen or used. I recently got back from a week long winter survival course. I bought this knife, the week or so befoer, and took it with me. It was so tough. I used it as a hatchet, I cut down small trees with it,I beat on the spine to cut through stuff and overall, kind of abused it. It held an edge wonderfully, and with a few strokes through the built in sharpener, it was back to being razor sharp. The only draw back is the rubber handle looks like it may be seperating from the tang, near the hilt. I don't know if that's because it is so hard to get in and out of the sheath, or from chopping with it. Great knife, and I would certainly recommend it.

Received my knife last week. The order was processed quickly and arrived in advance of expectation. I have not had a chance to see it in action yet, but the quality is apparent. Solid knife with hefty weight. The sheath and nylon are well made. Very impressed and a great value. Could not beat the price!

I got this knife as a gift for Christmas. So far it's a great knife it is a heavy knife but that doesn't bother me. It can be used as a hatchet I demalished some hawethorn trees with it which I probably shouldn't do with a knife but it did it and keep a good edge. The giant skull cruser on the end of it breaks through thick ice great. The finish on the handle seems like it might not hold up but it has through me throwing it and useing it as a hachet.
