There comes a time in a guy''''s life when he might start thinking he has too many knives. But when you show him one of these, well, maybe he starts thinking that there''''s room for one more. After all, the AR 3.0 and 3.5 represent hybrid knife design at its best.

You''''re looking at the near-perfect combination of strength, balance, ergonomics, minimal weight, and a stylized look that can rightly be described as bad to the bone.

Sure, the AR models are easily opened with one hand. Sure, their mechanics are silky smooth. Sure, the pocketclip is the essence of convenience. And sure, they''''re built from a caliber of stainless steel that simply commands respect. But what you might not expect is the innovative blend of die-cast aluminum and Softgrip® inserts in the handle. To a lot of guys, this is a must-have knife.

i have never written a review online, but this is the best pocket knife i have ever owned. i still have the one i bought 4 years ago and i use it every day. it is very durable, is a good work knife, holds an edge, is easy to sharpen. i also do martial arts and this functions extremely well as a personal protection knife- balanced, comfortable grip, blade length is within legal limits, blade is not shiny, the action is smooth. i am buying 4 more- three for my friends and one more for me. gerber needs to make this a permanent model in their line. it is the best knife overall that i've ever owned. i bought it at wal-mart for like 30-40 bucks. the only thing i would change is the direction of the pocket clip. the designer of this knife should get recognition.

I have owned 3 different blades of this model, only because I lost the original. Perfect for everyday use and can put a mean edge on it!

This is a beautiful knife in need of two small changes: 1. The thumb studs are too small! 2. The liner lock does not always go full on when the blade is opened. This may improve with wear but my thumb is sore.

This is a pretty rugged knife, I put it through some severe duty and it never fails, sure beats the E-Z out and I really liked that one. Could use the spring assist feature in this body though.
